Khắc phục lỗi "Microsoft Setup Bootstrapper Has Stopped Working" (Office 2013/2016/2019)

Lỗi Microsoft Setup Bootstrapper stopped working khi mở app Office (Word, Excel...). Xảy ra trên Win 7/8.1/10 với Office 2013/2016/2019. Bootstrapper khởi tạo app dùng Composite Application Library.

Nguyên nhân

  • Antivirus thứ 3 quá bảo vệ (McAfee, Avast...) – Chặn Office installer tải component từ server MS.
  • Registry key / file cài đặt hỏng – Cần tool sửa của Microsoft.
  • Phần mềm IObit xung đột – IObit Uninstaller, Advanced SystemCare... gây lỗi.
  • Task Scheduler bị tắt trong Registry – Office cần Task Scheduler cho dịch vụ cập nhật.
  • Registry key AppCompatFlags hỏng – Làm hỏng toàn bộ Office suite.
  • Office cũ không tương thích Windows 10 – Cài Office 2010/2013 trên Win 10 cần Compatibility Mode.

Phương pháp 1: Gỡ Antivirus thứ 3 (nếu có)

Tạm tắt real-time protection → test. Nếu vẫn lỗi → **gỡ hoàn toàn** antivirus (dùng tool gỡ chuyên dụng của hãng AV để xóa sạch残留). Tham khảo hướng dẫn gỡ AV chuẩn.

Phương pháp 2: Dùng Microsoft Fix-It Tool (Program Install/Uninstall Troubleshooter)

  1. Tải file .diagcab từ trang Microsoft.
  2. Chạy file → Advanced → tích Apply repairs automatically → Next.
  3. Chờ detect → chọn Installing → Next.
  4. Chọn chương trình bị lỗi (Microsoft Office) → Next.
  5. Chọn Yes, try uninstall → chờ hoàn tất → restart → test.

Phương pháp 3: Gỡ phần mềm IObit

  1. Win+R → appwiz.cpl → Enter.
  2. Click cột Publisher để nhóm theo nhà phát hành.
  3. Gỡ từng app IObit (Uninstaller, Advanced SystemCare...) → restart → test Office sau mỗi lần gỡ.
  4. Lặp lại cho đến khi tìm ra app gây xung đột.

Phương pháp 4: Bật lại Task Scheduler qua Registry

  1. Win+R → regedit → Enter → Yes.
  2. Điều hướng: 
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Schedule
  3. Bên phải: double-click Start → Value data = 2 (Hexadecimal) → OK.
  4. Đóng Registry → Restart máy → test.

Phương pháp 5: Gỡ Office hoàn toàn + Xóa key AppCompatFlags

  1. Win+R → appwiz.cpl → gỡ Microsoft Office suite hoàn toàn → restart.
  2. Win+R → regedit → điều hướng:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\AppCompatFlags
  3. Chuột phải AppCompatFlags → Export (backup) → lưu file .reg an toàn.
  4. Chuột phải AppCompatFlags → Delete.
  5. Đóng Registry → Restart → Cài lại Office.

Phương pháp 6: Cài Office qua Compatibility Mode (Office cũ trên Win 10)

  1. Mở thư mục cài Office → chuột phải Setup.exe → Troubleshoot compatibility.
  2. Chọn Try recommended settings → Test the program.
  3. Nếu chạy OK → Next → Yes, save these settings for this program.
  4. Chạy Setup.exe bình thường để cài đặt.

Thực hiện theo thứ tự 1→6. Cách 2 (Fix-It) và cách 5 (Xóa AppCompatFlags) hiệu quả cao nhất cho lỗi bền bỉ.
