Lỗi 0x80004005 ("Developer Mode package failed to install") xảy ra khi bật Developer Mode (Win + I → Update & Security → For developers → Developer mode). Nguyên nhân: gói tính năng Developer Mode không tải được, hoặc do chính sách Windows Update tùy chỉnh (SUS) chặn.

Tạo điểm khôi phục trước khi thực hiện.
Cách 1: Cài đặt thủ công gói Windows Developer Mode (khuyên dùng)
- Win + I → System → Apps & features → Manage Optional features.
- Add a feature → tìm Windows Developer Mode → Install.
- Khởi động lại.
- CMD Admin → gõ lần lượt:
sc config debugregsvc start=auto
sc start debugregsvc
- Quay lại Settings → For Developers: vẫn có thể báo lỗi 0x80004005 nhưng Windows Device Portal và Device Discovery đã có thể bật được.
Cách 2: Vô hiệu hóa Windows Update tùy chỉnh (SUS) qua Registry
- Win + R →
regedit. - Đường dẫn:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate\AU - Double-click UseWUServer → giá trị 0 (Disable).
- CMD Admin → gõ lần lượt:
net stop wuauserv
net stop bits
net stop cryptsvc
net start wuauserv
net start bits
net start cryptsvc
- Khởi động lại máy.
