Sau cập nhật Creators Update (version 1703), file ảnh (.jpg, .jpeg, .png...) hiển thị icon trắng thay vì thumbnail. Mở file vẫn bình thường bằng Photos App. Lỗi do quyền registry key UserChoice bị sai.
Điều kiện tiên quyết
Đảm bảo file ảnh đã liên kết với Photos App: Chuột phải file ảnh → Properties → Change → chọn Photos.
Sửa quyền registry UserChoice
- Win+S → gõ
regedit→ chuột phải → Run as administrator → Yes. - Backup registry: File → Export → lưu file .reg an toàn.
- Điều hướng:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\.jpg(thay .jpg bằng .jpeg, .png... nếu cần). - Mở nhánh UserChoice → chuột phải → Permissions.
- Chọn ALL APPLICATION PACKAGES trong Group or user names → Advanced.
- Kiểm tra/Thiết lập quyền:
- User của bạn (ComputerName\User): Access=Allow, Applies to=This key only, Inherited from=None → quyền Set Value.
- Administrators: Full Control, Applies to=This key and subkeys, Inherited from=...\Explorer. - Tích Replace all child object permission entries with inheritable permission entries from this object → Apply → OK → OK.
- Đóng regedit → vào thư mục ảnh → double-click file ảnh → sẽ hiện thông báo "An app default was reset" → icon thumbnail xuất hiện lại.
Lặp lại cho các đuôi file khác (.jpeg, .png, .gif...) nếu cần.
