Lỗi "Setup couldn't start properly. Please reboot your PC and run setup again" xuất hiện khi nâng cấp Windows 10 do thư mục cài đặt cũ (Windows.old, $Windows.~BT, $Windows.~WS) còn sót lại gây xung đột. 4 phương pháp dưới đây giúp khắc phục.
4 Cách Sửa Lỗi Setup Couldn't Start Properly
Lưu ý: Tạo Restore Point. Sao lưu dữ liệu quan trọng trước khi xóa thư mục hệ thống.
Phương pháp 1: Disk Cleanup + Error Checking
- Chuột phải ổ C: → Properties → Disk Cleanup.
- Clean up system files → tích tất cả (đặc biệt Previous Windows installation(s) và Temporary Windows installation files) → OK → Delete Files.
- Tab Tools → Check (Error checking) → Scan drive → làm theo hướng dẫn.
- Reboot → chạy lại Media Creation Tool.
Phương pháp 2: Xóa Thư Mục Cũ Trong Safe Mode (Triệt Để Nhất)
- Win + R →
msconfig→ tab Boot → tích Safe boot → Minimal → OK → Restart. - Safe Mode: Win + E → View → Options → tab View → tích Show hidden files, folders, and drives → bỏ tích Hide protected operating system files → Apply.
- Vào ổ C: → xóa vĩnh viễn (Shift + Del) các thư mục:
$Windows.~BT
$Windows.~WS
Windows.old(nếu có) - Xóa rác trong Recycle Bin.
- Mở
msconfig→ bỏ tích Safe boot → OK → Restart. - Chạy lại Media Creation Tool.
Phương pháp 3: Chạy Trực Tiếp Setup.exe Từ Thư Mục ESD
- Chạy Media Creation Tool → để nó tải xong và báo lỗi một lần.
- Mở File Explorer → bật Show hidden files (như bước 2).
- Đến:
C:\ESD\setup.exe→ double-click chạy → tiếp tục cài đặt.
Phương pháp 4: Chạy Automatic/Startup Repair Từ USB Cài Windows
- Boot từ USB cài Windows 10.
- Chọn ngôn ngữ → Repair your computer (góc dưới trái).
- Troubleshoot → Advanced options → Startup Repair (hoặc Automatic Repair).
- Đợi hoàn tất → Reboot.
Phương pháp 2 (Safe Mode xóa thư mục) có tỷ lệ thành công cao nhất. Nên dùng Media Creation Tool mới nhất từ trang Microsoft.
