Báo cáo Slimbook Titan 6 - Ừ, tôi hài lòng

2 năm trước, tôi mua Slimbook Titan, máy beefy chạy Linux. Mục đích: chuẩn bị cho EOL Windows 10, xem có thể chuyển toàn bộ work và fun sang Linux exclusively. Chủ đề nhiều bài viết qua vài năm, focus software compatibility, gaming, WINE programs...
Cho đến nay, báo cáo 5 lần Titan work thế nào. Trải nghiệm, well, somewhat mediocre. Khởi đầu rough, theo sau lên xuống usability, chủ yếu do regression kernel space và firmware problems. Báo cáo 5, tôi cảm thấy mọi thứ ổn định. Với optimism, xem lại hệ thống, behave thế nào, đánh giá gần mục tiêu bao nhiêu. Bắt đầu.
Có vài vấn đề, nhưng nhanh chóng biến mất
Gặp vài bug, nay regression. SketchUp Make stop work, fix dễ. Tương tự KompoZer sluggish, mitigate dễ. Loại vấn đề này không inspire confidence, bound to happen. Rồi bỗng nhiên, fresh HD scaling artifact. Chưa thấy vì dùng 125%, giờ 137.5%, notice top numbers truncated Resolution dropdown. Tiny regression, hy vọng fix - điều tôi nhắc bài whether Kubuntu 22.04 có update sau April 2025. Sẽ có, nhưng bug này có thể không fix trong release này, quá 3 năm. Fair game.
Điều tốt
Tôi làm nhiều việc trên laptop gần đây, test stable calm. Và đúng, ổn. Không hardware issue. Không Wireless hiccup, freeze, suspend/resume issue. Hybrid graphics work impeccable. Pin giữ charge tốt. Kubuntu 22.04 resident (beefed by pro decade) không tốn nhiều electron.
4 browser: Firefox tarball và snap, Chrome, Edge. Steam, 2 chục game + assortment titles khác, GOG, ancient installer, work fabulous, không HD/UHD conflict. SketchUp, Kerkythea, Maxwell Render (plugin và native), half dozen WINE app. Offline Windows 10 VM, Office, cho publisher/agent khó tính bắt DOCX. Đó là cuộc đời.
Đừng quên TrueCrypt VeraCrypt, fix compatibility quan trọng dùng seamless cùng kernel cryptsetup (tutorial sắp tới), vài VPN client. LibreOffice work quite alright, tôi warmed up sau viết nonfiction history book. All in all, setup nifty. Tốt nhất, nếu chọn, có thể đi decade, không bị probe, profile, insult, treat như khỉ. Free OS price cũng bonus. Đừng quên Plasma desktop slick, posh delight, way ahead market.
Kết luận
Hy vọng không phải ăn lời. Nhưng hopeful optimistic. Sớm không pleased Titan, bàn phím meh. Giờ spend nhiều giờ gõ, test, tweak, push limits, có inkling of respect. Khó vượt early troubles, nhưng phải. Đặc biệt, gặp avalanche problems Windows clients gần đây, tôi bắt đầu cảm thấy Linux, despite problems, ain't so bad. Sure, có thể tốt hơn, nhưng all things considered, not bad at all.
Slimbook Titan redeemed itself. Mất thời gian, năm đầu tough. Extra grim nếu không option khác, limit usage chỉ máy này cho đến fix xong. Trên đường, học nhiều, solve nhiều issue, hy vọng lesson làm Linux desktop tốt hơn cho mọi người. Tôi confident milestone October 2025. Windows 10 không stop ngay, không doomsday ngay lập tức, không nhiều năm nữa. Dù sao, tốt biết có platform trusty, reliable, almost no loss functionality, infinite gain intelligence và peace of mind.
