Samsung A54, One UI 7.0 & Android 15 update

Từ tháng 9/2023, tôi có Samsung A54. Thích không? Không thực sự. Khá khó chịu, nhất phần mềm. Tệ nhất: tweak không ngừng, cần thiết nếu muốn dẫn trước trò chơi và ngăn OS profiling mọi khoảnh khắc sử dụng. Như giải thích qua 7 báo cáo dài hạn, luôn có việc làm, luôn option khác, nugget hiện đại ngớ ngốc. "Cuộc sống thông minh".
Bạn tưởng tượng lo lắng khi thấy prompt One UI 7.0. Take của Samsung trên Android 15, cuối cùng đến thiết bị tôi. Tránh lâu không được. Quyết định trải qua calvary. Ai biết, có thể bất ngờ tích cực. Swipe down menu (quick settings...) có element không remove được. Không thể không có Nearby Devices, SmartThings, Smart View, Modes. Miss me with this dross. Vô nghĩa, vô dụng, tôi không bao giờ dùng. Hoặc nút Bluetooth rác. Không muốn, không care.
Nhưng đó, theo tôi, giải thích tại sao họ "redesign" menu. Trước, swipe down, chỉ thấy quick access collapsed + notifications. Không bao giờ thấy hard-coded button như Bluetooth, SmartThings trong expanded menu. Vậy là đó.
Regression ergonomic khác trên Lock Screen. Trước update, dù ẩn nội dung notification, vẫn thấy icon messages, missed calls, updates dưới clock widget. Rõ ràng. One UI 7.0 không cho đó. Icon chỉ ở status bar, muốn dưới clock widget, phải dùng cards. Khó chịu.
Gemini
Chưa nói trước, nhưng có, điện thoại hỏi setup "AI" helper. Cơ bản cái tên/mục đích Google Assistant cũ, trừ là bản mới. Travesty thực sự: OS muốn gán nút power (long press) cho app vô dụng này. Không, bao giờ.
Nút power là nút power. Vào Apps, thử uninstall Gemini - không được, good nhất: disable background data, rồi disable app. Không hứng thú gimmick nonsense. Cover xong interest này. Bye bye.
Privacy, security và associated stuff
Setting cũ không đổi. Nhưng có cái mới cần attention. Như home screen search tool muốn keep history search, hoặc category notification history mới. Tôi không chắc dismiss/delete nội dung gốc (như message không giữ) thì sao. Nghe như profiling data, nên không dùng. Cũng tắt Finder options về 0. Yup, tất cả, off.
Settings menu, click magnifying glass (search), Samsung mỗi lần render trang show bunch card/button "most common search categories". Ý tưởng: người click vào, guided qua wizard thay vì search cần. Như gentle conditioning toward AI. Search clunky, thường return duplicate entries. Cả render search page và actual search khá chậm. 1+ giây mỗi operation. Mỗi lần.
Tại sao category/"topic" Etiquette có icon muted volume? Cũng double search results.
Android Safe Browsing. Không quan tâm. Đặc biệt vì supported apps tiny. Cynic trong tôi không nghĩ cách này potentially profile Web traffic, cho upstream vendor "control" xem, dùng, download, בשם security. Benevolent và sinister, modern software.
Snark aside, có thể useful ordinary users, nhưng tại sao browser không covered, tại sao cần, vì browser có built-in anti-phishing? Cũng, nếu dùng Firefox sensible với UBlock Origin tuyệt vời, stop tracker, ads, potentially malware, bạn way ahead.
Location, tôi không cho location trừ navigation, và thì cũng manual toggle on, chỉ khi app open used. Nhưng còn menu khác phải chú ý, vigilant.
Camera vẫn không work nếu disable Nearby Devices. Amazing. Có option mới read documents/text. Không. Không quan tâm. Camera cũng basic image retouching, không toggle tắt.
Samsung Gallery vẫn default app access qua Camera. Chụp ảnh, thấy thumbnail (circle) bottom left. Nhưng deny Gallery permission media, thì không work. Không remap Google Photos - dù tôi dùng đó làm "default" photo/video app.
Đào sâu permission, bao gồm system apps. Tìm vài nugget brown cần neutering thêm. Smart Touch Call. Thấy "smart" trong mô tả app, 99.97% chance useless, tôi không thích. Không biết cái gì, tại sao cần call log. Cho privacy và wellbeing, chắc. Gallery stories. Không chỉ Gallery. Stories. Rác khác access media, không explicit consent.
Xem này. Service "photo remaster". Tại sao access Location hoặc Nearby Devices, dù tôi explicitly không dùng? Yeah babe, keep profiling me, deep nice. Oh Samsung, please use my data, please, I'm so happy.
Samsung Multi Connectivity, muốn MOAR data:
Thread. "Lưu" credentials cloud để simplify Thread network config. Thứ nhất, không biết là gì. Thứ hai, lưu credentials remote, bất kể service, nên explicit opt-in? Tại sao preselected? Google, bạn naughty? GDPR spanking time?
Google service updates? Muốn auto? Không. Xem sao. Alarmist message, không giải thích manual update system services. Làm tôi không muốn dùng. Đối xử tôi như intelligent human, tôi có thể play along.
Ah yes, notifications. Meta AI chats dưới Conversations? Càng nhiều data grabby features, cataloged đẹp, dễ collect, collate, analyze golden juices user data. Hay dystopian nonsense. Ai biết?
Cuối cùng, notice this. Emergency wireless alert category không disable: National warning messages issued by the President. Không tắt được. Huh! President nào? President universe? President FIFA? Power management, battery life
Good news, Android 15 ít voracious hơn predecessor. Cần lâu hơn estimate. So far so good. Trước update, typical use, 2.5 ngày. Sau, ~3 ngày và change. Phone có thể báo 4+ ngày. Translate ~20% boost. Superb. Battery và performance optimization điểm nice khác.
Tôi nghĩ Samsung finally fixed screen dimming 5% - ít nhất giờ có toggle tắt behavior khó chịu. System cũng muốn dùng Dark Mode khi bật battery saver. Chọn allow hay không.
Kết luận
Kết thúc review. Good things: One UI 7.0 nhanh, trouble-free. Android 15 + Samsung polish nhìn tốt hơn. Performance tốt. Pin optimized hơn, cần data hơn. Privacy config không harmed. Lớn thể, pleasant surprise, painless part nhất 18 tháng dùng A54. Bạn thấy, tôi fair unbiased, khi deserved.
Predictably, Samsung thêm đống modern crap không cần: app, setting, nếu để default, có thể dùng collect/profile user. Gemini cảm thấy hoàn toàn unnecessary. Samsung apps vẫn annoying, inferior stock Google. Ecosystem vẫn không quiet như nên. Cuối, message Google devs: 200+ countries territories, một số không president, chắc chắn không THE president. Bớt geocultural egocentrism giúp tạo cảm giác MỌI NGƯỜI deserved respect và fairness.
All in all, đây trải nghiệm A54 yêu thích nhất. Không wonderful, nhưng không urge búa đập như bình thường. High endorsement từ curmudgeon. See you later, world citizens và netizens.
