Lỗi Code 31 trong Device Manager trên Windows 8, thường liên quan đến WAN Miniport. Thông báo: "This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)". Cập nhật driver báo "up to date" nhưng vẫn lỗi. Microsoft có hotfix nhưng có thể sửa thủ công:
Cách khắc phục lỗi Code 31 WAN Miniport
- Mở Device Manager (Win+X → M)
- Chuột phải WAN Miniport báo lỗi (dấu chấm than vàng) → Update Driver Software
- Chọn Browse my computer for driver software
- Chọn Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer
- Bỏ tích Show compatible hardware
- Cột trái chọn Microsoft, cột phải chọn Microsoft KM-TEST Loopback Adapter
- Cảnh báo Update Driver → chọn Yes
- Sau khi cài xong → chuột phải thiết bị đó → Uninstall
- Chuột phải tên máy tính (đầu cây Device Manager) → Scan for hardware changes
- Menu View → Show Hidden Devices
- WAN Miniport (Network Monitor) sẽ khởi động, không còn dấu chấm than vàng
Sau đó, chạy công cụ sửa lỗi Windows khuyên dùng để quét conflict và setting hỏng còn sót.
