Người nông dân cuối cùng cũng đặt tay lên iPhone. Tôi không còn plebe, vì dùng được posh phone! Rawr! Trước khi excited, phải báo: thiết bị là hand-me-down từ bạn, iPhone 11, 2019. Bạn mua mới, thay vì vứt, cho tôi. Giờ làm cool things và experiments. Chiefly, trả lời: điện thoại 5 năm handle "modern" reality thế nào?
Câu hỏi quan trọng, vì tôi luôn wonder long-term value mobile devices. Ví dụ, vẫn có Android cũ, nhưng một số không nhận update, chậm, hỏng. Nên trả nhiều tiền mua iPhone đắt, support nhiều năm, hay trả "ít" tiền Android? Vì câu hỏi silly, elaborate.

Tiền, support, chất lượng
Cho đến gần đây, Android support window ngắn. 1 major upgrade, tốt nhất 2, xong. Hardware capable, stuck old software, vulnerability (thường overrated, nhưng vẫn).
Mua Samsung A54 năm trước. Lý do chính: 5 năm patching/upgrade. Giờ, nhiều manufacturer offer support hợp lý hơn, nhưng vẫn pale shadow so với desktop OS. Realistically, 5+ năm upgrades: Samsung, Google, Fairphone, Apple. Có thể công ty khác, bỏ lỡ thì xin lỗi.
Conundrum lớn hơn factor khác. Jack 3.5mm? Quên đi. Pin thay thế? Fairphone, nhưng không latest hardware. Dual SIM? Oh my, joke. Nhiều manufacturer chuyển 2 physical SIM → 1 + eSIM, vì a) cheapness b) control c) both. Cuối, cost. Pixel clean Android nhưng đắt. Samsung có phone rẻ (nếu tốt), nhưng UI horrible, như A54. Đọc báo cáo long-term, hơn 1 năm sau, vẫn battle annoyances, pointless modern stuff, low-IQ. Quyết định không mua Samsung bao giờ.
Không gian smartphone lớn hẹp thành vài option. Cần 2 SIM tray: Samsung only. Cần audio jack: none. Sống không convenience, muốn 5+ năm: Samsung, Google, Fairphone. Muốn hardware tốt: tốn tiền. 800-1000$. Làm iPhone đắt thành option interesting, viable, tốt hay xấu.
Trên giấy, iPhone là mọi thứ tôi không muốn. Không jack, không dual SIM, đắt, ecosystem restricted. Nhưng. Chi phí không cao, relative terms?
Chi phí và tốc độ qua các năm
Test thiết bị cũ = evaluate normalized cost/year ratio iPhone, và Android khác dùng quá khứ (hoặc vẫn dùng). Không keen mua flagship đắt, không thấy điểm, nên không có old flagship Android so sánh old flagship iPhone. Android đắt nhất: Motorola One Zoom. Vẫn work!
Thiết bị ~600$ đương thời. Nhận gần như không update, không update vài năm - app vẫn patch thường. Pin vẫn magic, 7-10 ngày charge, even serious usage. Camera excellent, audio tốt, jack 3.5mm nice. All in all, fantastic. Nếu chỉ có nhiều phone như này, nhưng không, không bao giờ. "Negative": One Zoom hơi chậm (2025). Vấn đề: bloat inevitable software stack, performance degradation. Điều xảy ra khi dev cho phép viết code arbitrary, không constraint. Finesse lost art.
Cũng nhắc Lumia 950 cũ, w00t. Không Android, vẫn work. Ecosystem busted, nhưng phone quick. Vì không làm relevant properly, khó judge handle modern tasks. Chủ yếu Internet. Cũng không Android.
Test range thiết bị rẻ 200-300$, compromise big part. Biết money's worth, không nhiều. Cases, sweet bang-for-buck, land nice cheap durable fun. Nhưng Nokia X10, trả nhiều theo thời gian, replace frequent. Không khác mua PC. Tốt hơn 1000$ computer lasts 6 năm, hơn 2x 500$ chỉ 3 năm. Optimal ratio ở đâu, closer former.
iPhone xuất hiện ...
iPhone 11 cũ. Tốt thế nào? Physical traits:
- Audio busted. Tinny. Cần external device sound. Bluetooth (ghét) hoặc Lightning-to-jack adapter, tai nghe đơn giản honest. Chọn sau, rẻ, không hết pin, không connectivity problem, không trông như hearing impairment tự nguyện.
- Pin okayish - 2-3 ngày, degraded effectively 80% capacity gốc.
- Không scuff/mark màn hình - owner trước careful, silicon case non-branded mostly.
Khá ổn, considering age usage... Và tôi có 5 ngón, đừng lo. One be shy.
Software side:
- iPhone 11 nhận iOS 18 latest no trouble. Trừ AI nonsense, không supported, glad, exact same experience supported iPhone. Same looks, features.
- OS rất fast. Không thể nói exact differ speed perception test trước, nhưng sprightly, quick, no visible lag. Everything smooth. Identical A54, ví dụ.
Lockdown Mode awesome, thêm security và convenience, tôi quan tâm convenience hơn, vì nó neuter bad coding practices dev nhét vào app/website. Beautifully, Lockdown Mode cripples stupid code. Great. Funny feature advertised cho journalists, potential hax0ring targets, không phải ordinary folks không muốn stupidity. Tôi nghĩ Lockdown Mode nên default - no image previews, no messages attachment unknown contacts, no remote fonts, no JIT nonsense, more.
Peasant conveniences?
Có progress. Với tenacity, có thể làm iPhone behave. Crucially, adblocker cho Safari, nghĩa là contemplate dùng iPhone browsing, vì refuse browsing không adblocker. Sadly, browser khác, không lucky. iOS, all browsers phải dùng WebKit, effectively frontend same engine. Firefox, không adblocker, silly. Brave có thể, built-in adblocker, test sau.
Load music lên phone không iTunes - test Linux, không work. VLC media player, copy music fine. Hoặc music và hơn, KDE Connect glorious fun, pair device Plasma desktop. Mastered another venue sane everyday usage. Obstacle removed.
Disable iCloud completely. Game Center, không toggle off. Settings hang khi thử. Game Center nothing. No iMessages, như RCS. Say no to fads!

Setup
Quick relatively simple, especially vs Android. Go through every setting, nhưng ultimately không nhiều việc. Không insert SIM, không spare, nhưng OS setup vẫn insist number "verification". Meh. Toggle off: share feedback dev (không muốn), vài advertising questions. All in all, quite mild.
Sensitive Content Warning - prudishness laughable. Tôi mind, sensitive content: political crap, blatant propaganda, fear mongering news, hyperbole, clickbait, violence, modern low-IQ stuff không muốn thấy. Tại sao không filter đó? Nudity làm gì ai?
Tắt Siri (và proxy Apple Intelligence), nhưng cũng go through every app, toggle off "Learn from this app". Cơ bản Search và Analytics, cover majority privacy items. Location off, of course.
App Store
Disappointing, expected. Like Android, too flashy, too ADHD, designed làm clueless click buy. Cũng, dùng store, PHẢI viết address store details, даже no payment method. Why? Nếu geo-restriction weird, tôi ghét. Một bên, phone "guess" location neatly: IP Wi-Fi, country region. Tại sao cần physical address? Đặc biệt ZERO intention dùng tiền App Store, như Android. User data? Don't know, don't care.
Quá nhiều ads. Không care. Search, không cần top 50% screen ad, thường ngôn ngữ không đọc. Double-ironic: store restrictive content can't have/can't buy (music/books) based region, nhưng no problem serve ads 100% irrelevant. Có thể data protection/personalization, commendable nhưng unnecessary.
Sensors
iPhone 2 permanent annoyances. Không setup Face ID, forever red badge counter 1, bảo finish setup. Không, GTFO. Nonsense remain forever, until succumb pressure hoặc replace ecosystem.
Bluetooth toggle ON sau mỗi system patch. Tắt, ghét, system upgrade major/minor, next reboot, Bluetooth running. Stupid pointless. Không muốn dùng, spend money overpriced peripherals. Not interested.
Quay lại everyday use
Gì khác? Gestures. Không thích. Prefer normal menu bar (3-button Android), hoặc physical button, old iPhone. Gestures too monkey-like. Smartphone thing như giant simian conditioning low-IQ masses. Camera HEIC default. Không. Photos app confusing. Không select all delete once. Customize view remove Utilities, không tìm Trash/Recently Deleted, nơi select all. Meh.
Overall impression
Dùng hơn vài giờ, work around problems - hoặc "get used to" cases. Here there, genuine lack knowledge, light reading figure out how works. Fact, here there, grudgingly accepted "Apple way" acceptable. But things plain pointless, infuriatingly, vì không change được.
BIG PROBLEM: không like, no middle ground. Alternative: Wild West Android, 5,449 versions, vanilla đến ultra-customized, dozens menus options privacy tweaks annoyances. Đây: relatively peaceful ecosystem, nhưng phải accept limitations. Otherwise, peasant highway.
Phải thừa nhận, 1-2 tuần config, initial impression changed positively. Couple previous iPhone endeavors và gradual resolution usability problems (music, adblocking), favorable view device/OS hơn trước. Hiểu tại sao người mua/dùng, nếu không mood nerd wars. Kết luận, trả lời câu hỏi đầu bài.
Kết luận
5 năm sau, iPhone 11 hold quite well. OS tight, no doubt. Lockdown Mode on, adblocker, music VLC, almost usable cho taste. Hardware solid, nhưng audio và pin deteriorated, không thấy One Zoom. Nhưng iOS 18 smooth hơn Motorola cope modern workloads.
Không remove annoyances: Face ID setup, Bluetooth, forever in way, work around. But end of the day, get job done, usability model khác Android. Baseline accept nếu dùng device. Vậy, initial cost iPhone 11 paid off, long-term viability. Nếu dùng device toàn đời, hit good annual cost-value ratios. Không nghĩa là perfect hoặc superior everything Android, nhất là tìm nice friendly device decent support good hardware. Alas, nếu có cách take best of both worlds...
Câu 2: Dedo có dùng phone này cho good? Không chắc. Impression ecosystem improved considerably qua năm. Hiểu và respect logic iPhone/iOS. Có thể willing try, nếu given phone free. Hello! Nhưng vẫn too much peasant để fully immerse. Things rub wrong way, không shake off. Address bar bottom Safari, gestures, little things. But really like Lockdown Mode, smooth upgrades, simple privacy management. Vậy, undecided, more optimistic, yet still hesitant, end piece.
