Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter là tính năng mới của Windows ảo hóa card mạng vật lý (tương tự VMWare ảo hóa toàn bộ OS). Trên mạng ảo, một adapter kết nối mạng không dây thông thường, adapter ảo khác kết nối mạng ad-hoc. Có thể dùng tạo Wi-Fi hotspot cho thiết bị khác kết nối như access point bình thường. Tính năng có sẵn từ Windows 7, 8, 8.1, 10.
Tính năng này mặc định tắt (disabled). Cần bật trước khi dùng. Có 2 cách tạo wireless access point:
- Dùng Command Prompt (cmd) của Windows.
- Dùng phần mềm thứ 3 như Connectify.
Cách kích hoạt Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter
Trước khi biến adapter ảo thành access point, card mạng chính phải được cho phép chia sẻ internet cho thiết备 kết nối qua adapter ảo này.
- Win + I mở Windows Settings.
- Chọn Network & Internet.
- Kéo xuống click Network and Sharing Center.
- Click Change adapter settings.
- Chuột phải kết nối Ethernet → Properties.
- Tab Sharing → tích ô Allow other network users to connect through this computer's Internet connection.
- OK.
Máy đã sẵn sàng chia sẻ internet qua Virtual Network Adapter. Tạo access point bằng 1 trong 2 cách:
1. Tạo Wireless Access Point bằng Command Prompt
- Kết nối máy Windows với mạng bằng cáp Ethernet.
Lưu ý: Không tạo được hotspot nếu đang kết nối internet bằng Wi-Fi. - Kiểm tra card mạng không dây đã cài chưa: Win + X → Network Connections → xem danh sách adapter. Nếu có "Wi-Fi" là đã có Wireless Network Adapter. Chưa có thì cài qua Ethernet/USB.
- Mở Command Prompt as Administrator (Chuột phải cmd → Run as Administrator → Yes).
- Kiểm tra adapter có hỗ trợ hosted network: gõ netsh wlan show drivers → Enter. Nếu "Hosted network supported: Yes" thì OK.
- Tạo wireless access point: gõ lệnh
netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=VirtualNetworkName key=Password
Thay VirtualNetworkName = tên mạng mong muốn, Password = mật khẩu mạnh. Enter. Mặc định mã hóa WPA2-PSK (AES). - Bật hotspot: netsh wlan start hostednetwork. Access point sẽ hiển thị trên thiết bị khác.
- Xem chi tiết (số client kết nối): netsh wlan show hostednetwork.
- Tắt hotspot khi không dùng: netsh wlan stop hostednetwork.
2. Tạo Wireless Access Point bằng phần mềm thứ 3 (Connectify)
Nhiều phần mềm tạo access point với giao diện đồ họa dễ dùng: Connectify, Baidu WiFi Hotspot, Virtual Router Plus... (miễn phí/ trả phí). Các bước với Connectify:
- Tải Connectify từ trang chủ.
- Click Download → chạy file .exe → Yes → I Agree → Agree → cài đặt → Finish (máy sẽ restart).
- Mở Connectify sau khi restart.
- Nếu có firewall, cho phép Connectify truy cập mạng.
- Chọn kết nối internet hiện tại để chia sẻ.
- Đặt tên hotspot ở mục Hotspot.
- Đặt mật khẩu mạnh ở mục Password.
- Click Start Hotspot.
- Để dừng: click Stop Hotspot trên Connectify.
Cài đặt lại Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter
Nếu driver bị hỏng gây lỗi tạo hotspot, cài lại driver:
- Mở Device Manager → xem Network adapters.
- Mở rộng Network adapters → chuột phải Microsoft Virtual Wi-Fi Miniport Adapter → Uninstall.
- Khởi động lại máy.
- Mở Device Manager → tab Actions → Scan for hardware changes.
- Adapter sẽ tự cài lại.
