Limetorrent.info là browser hijacker cực kỳ tấn công: ép buộc notification/pop-up, chuyển hướng toàn bộ traffic đến web chia sẻ file đen (Limetorrent.info). Quảng cáo/pop-up chứa malware có thể xâm hại thiết bị nếu click. Google, Yahoo đã blacklist Limetorrent.info. Tác giả mở nhiều site chị em: Limetorrents.io, .asia, .zone – adware cũng redirect đến đó.
Mục đích
- Kiếm tiền qua quảng cáo, đẩy traffic, search engine.
- Quảng bá Limetorrent.info (đối thủ The Pirate Bay). Tải "miễn phí" nhưng thực tế nhiễm malware.
- Phân phối malware dưới mô hình MaaS (Malware-as-a-Service): chia sẻ lợi nhuận tấn công thành công.
Hướng dẫn loại bỏ
1. Anti-malware mạnh (Outbyte Antivirus)
Deep cleanse, xóa PUP. Do malware làm nhiễu DNS → cần network reset hoặc restore point trước khi nhiễm.
Chạy Outbyte trên Safe Mode with Networking:
- Win+R >
msconfig> Enter. - Boot tab > Safe Mode + Network > Restart.
- Sau restart, chạy anti-malware (tải nếu chưa có).
- Xong, restart bình thường, bỏ tick Safe boot/Network.
2. PC Repair Tool
Dọn file rác trong %Temp%, Downloads – nơi file Limetorrent.info ẩn náu. Sửa registry, tối ưu startup.
3. Gỡ Browser Extension
Chrome: Menu > More tools > Extensions > Remove Adfocus, ClixSense, Trafmag...
Firefox: Menu > Add-ons > Right-click extension > Remove.
Opera: Opera icon > Extensions > Extensions > X button.
Safari: Safari > Preferences > Uninstall extension.
4. Windows Recovery – System Restore (tùy chọn)
Control Panel > Recovery > Open System Restore > Next > Chọn restore point > Scan for affected programs (đảm bảo malware trong danh sách) > Close > Next > Finish. Chỉ hoạt động nếu đã tạo restore point trước đó.
Phòng tránh
- Không truy cập torrent site "miễn phí" (luôn có chi phí ẩn).
- Quét anti-malware thường xuyên.
- Không để file rác 쌓 lên (căn cứ hoạt động của malware).
